If you’re 14–18, the NYC Votes Youth Ambassador Program is your chance to get involved in local elections and help other young people vote. Led by young people, for young people.

Civics Week 2026

We're excited to join local students and educators across the city for Civics Week (March 9-13, 2026) to help young New Yorkers learn about local government, understand how elections work, and discover how to get involved.

Join sessions in-person across all five boroughs and online to explore how city government operates, learn about voter registration, and discover how youth can make real change. All sessions are listed below.

Youth Voting in NYC

Are you registered?

Young voters are an important part of NYC elections. In 2024, 75.9% of eligible New Yorkers under 30 were registered to vote.

2024 Turnout

57.1% of eligible voters 18–29 in NYC turned out to vote in the 2024 Presidential election.

How Youth Vote

In the 2024 NYC general election, voters aged 18–29 represented 17.2% of the electorate, second only to those aged 30–39 (18.7%).
